Vera Lynn Hoiten

Vera was born on February 11, 1968 to Vera Bad Wound and Ben Jensen Sr. Vera was born in Pine Ridge, SD and is the youngest of eight children. Vera grew up in Martin and attended Martin Grade School and Bennett County High School. She also lived with her sister Shirley and attended High School in Missoula, Montana. Vera graduated High School from Denver High in Denver, CO.
Vera's first job was at age 13 working at Vesta's Steakhouse in Martin, SD as a dishwasher. Vera also worked at D&D Cafe, Lakota Times and Inland Theater while in school.
At the age of 18, Vera left for Syosset, NY to be a nanny. Vera said that was a great experience for her and she still keeps in touch with the Sovronsky family that she worked for.
Vera went to business school for six months while employed with Dunhill Temporary Systems, doing payroll for the temporary staff. She then moved to Caldwell, ID in 1995 where she gave birth to her daughter Laura Lynn. Vera married Marty Hoiten after 8 1/2 years on March 17, 2004. Vera felt it was important to get married on her mothers birthday.
Vera is currently employed with Citibank as a customer/sales representative. Vera works the graveyard shift to allow herself to be home with her daughter during the day.
Vera keeps herself busy with her family, embroidery, reading, scrap booking, and photography.
